WINDY AUSTIN... WINDY AUSTIN... If that indeed is his real name!
Ive known Windy for over 40 years. He passed just the other day!
I still don't know if that was his name. But, That name means a whole bunch to a whole bunch of people. He lived a fast life. And, had some very good & bad times I'm sure. His talent most times superseded him where ever he went. His legend was there a half hour before him most times too. I cant really say he got what he deserved out of life. Because... He really never got anything at all. Most times i saw. Or, talked to Windy. He was telling me what to do. Or, telling me how fucked up i was! I was sitting outside the North Street Laundry Matt one day waiting on my dryer. I was playing the 'Blue Album' in my van. Windy walked over and leaned into my Van. Snatched out the tape and said: "Don... I don't remember releasing any Cassettes of this album. So, That will be $3.99 please." I paid him. He returned the tape to my deck. I watched Windy evolve into the Master Showman he has been for 3 decades. I will miss you so very much Windy. But, I know the band up there is complete now. Later my Brother in Muse... Donald L.
